Do YOU want to sell prints? One mistake you make.
Hi people!
Today it is a short journal without photos, sorry.
I would like to give you one important advice, so I hope it can be still useful ;)
I see many people try to sell prints here. And they are often sad they have not sold anything yet.
But at the same time I see they do the same mistake. So:
HOW PEOPLE TRY TO SELL THEIR WORK AS A PRINT?
1. you took a photo (drew a picture). It is nice, so you want to post it as a deviation.
2. you edit it. Making it sharper, more colourful, adding contrast, CHANGING a size to some 850x600px, for example.
3. you post it as a deviation.
4. you look at your deviation and think "hm, it looks pre
How I fixed my group request limit by Stygma, journal
How I fixed my group request limit
At the end of August 2016, DeviantArt released a change to groups, limiting submissions in a group to 10 a day. This change also impacted the request limit for admins. And it was clear from the start that something was wrong. Some groups were able to request many artworks a day while others only 10 or even less. And there were also other issues: members submissions way higher than 10 a day, groups being hacked because their invites as admins were suddenly automatically approved, and maybe other issues that I don't know of. Since my own group was limited to a maximum of 10 requests a day, I decided, with the collaboration of the help desk, to

Alright! I'm slowing down with my posts and to all who missed me, my apologies! ... I've had this Mandelbulb 3D tutorial in my head so I forgot a little that this is a blog and I can (and should) post about anything, in between tutorial pages :)
Those damn pixels! So I'll do that - but for now, I'm going to share with you my discovery of how to improve the state of your fractal if it's full of annoying little noisy pixels. As an example, I zoomed into an appropriate area using the Amazing Box formula, with lot
As part of our ongoing process to make the user experience cleaner and more intuitive, we've launched a new set of username symbols designed to help easily identify deviant-types.
Easily Identifiable
At a glance, the new symbols are quickly recognizable. When hovering over a username symbol, a tooltip appears, providing a brief explanation of that user's deviant-type. If clicked, a modal appears, giving a brief explanation for each username symbol, with "Learn more" links that lead to more detailed explanations.
A word from Heidi:
Over the years, a few things have come to seem like deviantART mainstays. Deviant green, intricate art categori

Important notice about account security
There was recently an incident on another website, completely unrelated to deviantART.com, that resulted in account email addresses and passwords for that site being leaked online. While the information was not deviantART-related, your deviantART account may be at risk if you use the same email address and password for multiple sites.
To protect your deviantART account, we strongly suggest that you change your password.
When updating a password, create one that is complex and unique, making it impossible for would-be intruders to identify it, whether by educated guess or calculated attack.

PSA: IFS Fractal Sharpness by ChaosFissure, journal
PSA: IFS Fractal Sharpness
If you're making fractals and find yourself needing to sharpen the image through postprocessing, chances are that you're not making use of the native antialiasing or oversampling settings the renderer provides. Based on a few pieces of artwork I've seen recently, and comments on postprocessing of fractals, I'd like to share some some tips on rendering production-quality fractals straight from your renderer of choice, based on my own experience.
Note: TL;DR is bold. More technical reasoning is italicized. There are probably some technical errors in this journal entry, as I haven't really implemented AA methods in my own toy renderer yet and
